Technical Meeting in Tripoli to Support Renewable Energy Specialization at Sebha Institute

On Sunday, 21 September 2025, a significant technical meeting was held at the National Oil Corporation (NOC) headquarters in Tripoli, bringing together Dr. Abubakr Mohamed Othman, Chairman of the Board, and Dr. Almahdi Mohamed Almakki, Board Member for Technical Affairs, along with representatives from Sebha Institute of Petroleum Technology. Also in attendance were Dr. Nabil Abdulatif Bin Saud from the NOC, representatives from the Libyan Center for Renewable Energy Research, and representatives from the European Union. The meeting took place in a professional atmosphere marked by cooperation and support, focusing on ways to support Sebha Institute in the field of renewable energy—a specialization the institute is known for. Discussions centered on: - Developing educational curricula in line with the highest global scientific standards. - Providing advanced training programs for students and trainers. - Preparing highly competent technical personnel capable of joining the oil fields directly. This meeting is part of the NOC’s and its local and international partners’ efforts to enhance integration between the oil sector and renewable energy, serving sustainable development in Libya, helping reduce production costs, and contributing to lowering carbon emissions—thus promoting a clean and safe industrial environment.
