
Admissions and Registration
Students are admitted to the institute through a selection exam committee formed by a decision from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation. Admission is based on the needs determined by the oil companies in coordination with the Corporation, whether in terms of number or specialization, while taking into account the institute's capacity. The institute notifies the companies of the names of the accepted trainees.
To be accepted as a trainee at the institute, the following conditions must be met in addition to any amendments issued by the Corporation in this regard:
- The applicant must be of Libyan nationality.
- The applicant must have a Basic Education Completion Certificate from the first round of the admission year with an overall grade of Excellent or Very Good, or with a grade of Good provided that their score in applied subjects (Mathematics and Science) is not less than 60% in each subject.
- The applicant must be of good conduct and behavior.
- The applicant must be at least fifteen years old and not more than eighteen years old.
- The applicant must pass the entrance exam and personal interview successfully.
- The applicant must pass the required medical examination and be physically and mentally fit to pursue training at the institute in accordance with applicable regulations.
- The applicant must provide a written commitment to abide by the institute’s rules, regulations, and policies.
- The applicant must commit to working in oil field locations assigned to them after graduation for at least twice the duration of the training.
